I am a practicing artist and potter of six years, and hope to have the opportunity to always be making with my hands. I think alot about repetition in craft, by working with ceramics, metal and wood. How we navigate process’ and learn from them as time passes is a meaningful endeavour, and alot of my practice as an artist is the reiteration of practicing. Trying to understand these skills leads you down different roads, and i like to map my experiences in varied ways. Documentation is an essential part of what i like to make, and that is often a basis for each piece. My sculptures are introspective, and are meeting for lived experience and imagination. My works are an atlas of memories which often come together in fragments. Things that are fractured are compelling to me.
Drawing in my sketchbooks is an indispensable part of my practice. The drawings show my practice in a more plain light for having two primary endeavours. There are light hearted and satirical illustrations and (or alongside) harsher realities. These two sides to my work carry across all the mediums i work with.
